SK-CERT on International Conference ITAPA 2018

On 13 and 14 November 2018 the Crowne Plaza Hotel is hosting an International Conference ITAPA 2018, the most famous and largest event since 2002, which is focuses on digitization of public administration. 

The topics of this year’s ITAPA Conference are data and artificial intelligence, Cloud, public procurement, eGovernment, the potential of emerging technologies and cybersecurity.

For the first time in the history of this event and in co-operation with the conference organisers, the National Unit SK-CERT has prepared two interactive workshops aimed at practical demonstrations and hands-on exercises in the field of cybersecurity under the name “CyberTAPA”. Workshops are supervised by experts from the National Unit SK-CERT and participants of the conference can gather valuable information based on practical experience in the field of national cyberspace protection and also try out the technical procedures for analysis and cybersecurity incident handling.   

The National Unit SK-CERT has prepared two interactive workshops:

Software Vulnerabilities – Attack and Defence

Description: Practical 4-hour workshop about security vulnerabilities in software and how attackers exploit them. Penetration tester beginners will learn how to reveal such vulnerabilities and computer programmers will learn how to avoid them during software development.

Date: 14 November 2018, 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 a.m., Hotel Crowne Plaza

Duration: 4 hours

Requirements for participants: laptop with WiFi connection, virtual machine with updated Kali Linux. Basic knowledge of networks and programming.

Analysis of Network Communication

Description: Practical 4-hour workshop aimed at getting acquainted with standard tools for analysis of network traffic (Wireshark, tcpdump, pcap format), tools used to get better understanding of larger networks (netflow, moloch, passive dns) and utilization of these tools in processes of network problem diagnostics and forensic analysis.

Date: 14 November 2018, 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., Hotel Crowne Plaza

Duration: 4 hours

Requirements for participants: personal laptop with WiFi connection, Wireshark, ssh client (putty). Basic knowledge of computer networks and OS Linux (debian).
